Your feed library is stored on your iPhone or iPad. This policy explains when information leaves your device and how you can manage it.

App privacy

  • Device storage: Folienne stores feeds, articles, saved items, reading progress, images, settings and Pro status on your device.
  • Feed connections: Folienne requests feeds, articles and images from the websites you follow. Those websites receive the requested address and basic connection information, such as your IP address. Their privacy policies apply to these requests.
  • Feed icons: Folienne sends the feed website domain to an arheh icon service to request its icon. The service can receive your IP address and request details. Downloaded icons are stored on your device.
  • Website viewing: Publisher pages can use cookies, scripts and tracking under their own policies. Folienne’s article browser uses temporary website storage. Ad and tracking filters can block some requests, but cannot block all tracking.
  • No app analytics: Folienne does not include advertising, tracking or usage analytics. We do not sell your personal information.

Optional features

  • iCloud Sync: When you turn on sync, Folienne sends feeds, article state and selected settings to your private iCloud account. Apple processes this data under its Privacy Policy.
  • Apple Intelligence: Article summaries and rewritten headlines use article titles and text. Processing can occur on your device or through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, when available. These requests do not go to an arheh AI service.
  • Cloud processing: Apple states that Private Cloud Compute uses request content only to complete the request and does not retain it. See Apple Intelligence and Privacy.
  • Notifications: Folienne schedules article notifications on your device. You can change notification access in the device settings.
  • Purchases: Apple processes Folienne Pro payments. Folienne uses purchase information to check access. We do not receive your payment card details.
  • Sharing: Feed exports, articles and diagnostic reports leave your device when you save or share them. Reports can include feed titles, addresses, app settings and technical identifiers. Review a report before you share it.

Website and support

  • Website: folienne.app does not use advertising or usage analytics. Hosting and service providers can process IP addresses and request details to deliver and protect the website and forms.
  • Contact form: We receive the name, email address and message you submit. We use this information to manage your request and reply.
  • App feedback: We receive your message, request type, app version, build, device platform, system version and language settings. Your name and email address are sent only when you request a reply.
  • Install check: App feedback includes proof of an App Store installation. The feedback service checks this proof, then discards it.
  • Support storage: Requests are kept in our email system. Hosting and email providers process information to deliver the service. Support information is shared only with service providers, for legal requirements or for security.
  • Retention: We keep support requests only as long as needed to handle them, protect the service or meet legal requirements. Use the contact form to request access, correction or deletion. Include your submission reference, if you have one.

Your data and choices

  • Local data: Library data stays on your device until you delete it, reset the app or the app removes older cached content. Use Clear Cache in Settings to remove downloaded content that the app can load again.
  • Reset: Reset App Data removes local feeds, saved articles, settings and cached data. It turns off sync on that device but does not delete data from iCloud.
  • iCloud deletion: Reset iCloud deletes synced Folienne data from iCloud. Turning off sync alone does not delete existing cloud data. To find the reset controls, open Settings, then About. Tap the developer logo five times to open Debug.
  • Feature choices: You can turn off iCloud Sync and automatic title rewriting in Folienne settings. You can use Folienne without sending feedback or requesting article summaries.
  • External records: App resets do not delete messages already sent to support, files you exported or Apple’s purchase records. Contact us about support data. Use Apple’s controls to manage Apple services and subscriptions.
